Reverse Mortgages

Turn your home equity into retirement income. For homeowners 62 and older.

Reverse mortgages are a type of home loan available to homeowners who are 62 years of age or older. They allow you to convert part of the equity in your home into cash — as a lump sum, monthly payments, or a line of credit — without having to sell your home or make a monthly mortgage payment.

The most common type is the FHA-insured Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM). The loan is repaid when the last borrower sells the home, moves out, or passes away, and you or your heirs will never owe more than the home is worth. Van will explain exactly how it works, what it costs, and whether it makes sense for your retirement plan.
